What is worse than launching on a weekend?  Answer: launching on a holiday!  4th of July, Memorial Day, etc.  As you say, launch on a weekday.

fished today, Saturday, 1st mistake, lol.
caught a few fish, crappies, bass and the inevitable too small yellow bass.  all still swimming.
2nd mistake was thinking that people would use common sense at the  bridge road launch  !!!
you've heard of the chit show on you tube ???? Well this was so far beyond that that I would call it the proverbial c****** f***.
I have my boat at the dock after waiting to get in, and guys are trying to back in to launch ???? I told them, nobody launches till I get out !!!!
I was parked way out towards the main road, I try to get in to back down the launch and nody would move to let me in.
I was not going to play games, either you let me load, or you do not launch, plain and simple, what a nightmare.
never again on a weekend like that, I can fish weekdays

Hit the river north of the boat launch on the north end yesterday from 4pm till dusk. Multi species approach and game plan. Failed for all panfish and game fish catching endeavors. 3 rods out. Catfish rod with chicken livers, bobber and minnow rod, and red worm rod for gills casting. Threw cranks for an hour or so too. It was disappointing.  Caught a half dozen ugly as sin bullheads all scared up full of sores. Nasty looking fish. Minnow, worm, and lure presentations fruitless. I'm thinking the jetskis might have played a role in my poor success.  Had to have been 30 of them that passed me in the river some only 10 yards away. The most ridiculous was a string of 5 that come up the river around 7pm. They were going fast I could hear them, they slowed down when seeing me. I thought well atleast they are going to try to go by without ruining my fishing opportunities.  I was dead wrong. They only slowed to answer a phone call and I could hear the talking about meeting up with another tichigan jet ski drag racer just up river from me. All 5 of them get 20 yards away down river from me still going slow. The phone call ends. They all then gun it full bore passing by me 15 yards at best. Huge wakes and tore up river bottom. I was tempted to cast my crankbait just behind the handlebars of one of those jetskis. But I thought better of it. I'll be fishing elsewhere

Also, and I know this is a huge long shot, but would anyone happen to know of someone with an open slip on their pier I could rent and keep my boat at? It is a 20 foot pontoon. I'm local to the area, but it sure would be nice to not have to mess with launching and pulling out every time.

Thinking about coming out tomorrow for some catfish.

How busy has the library launch been  on Saturday mornings?

Any word on the cat bite?

Thanks

Went to Waubeesee for a change of pace with my grandson today. Only couple small bass to show for it so came back to Waterford and tried the river. Only one fish but a decent one.
