Pewaukee Lake

The weeds will be horrible this year.  Lack of ice will do that.  Weeds cutters are out but they can’t keep up.  From the narrows east the weeds r to the surface.  All the boat heading east chop up the weeds and they go where the wind blows them.  Look at the shore on the north side of the narrows.  Property owners have weeds stack 4ft here their whole shoreline.  Pewaukee will be a hard lake to fish this year.  Walleyes are on the weed edges.  Weed edge is some places is already out to 15ft.  Trolling will be tough after busy weekends.

Went out casting this Saturday for musky, bass, anything really. The amount of floating weed patches was absurd, pretty much unfishable in most places. Are the weed cutters/collectors going around yet? 

I am guessing there is a large bass tourney with all of the high end bass boats I have seen on the lake this week.  I am guessing the launch will be busy tomorrow morning.  Can u register rock bass?  Because they r taking over the lake!   Weed-lines have been good.

Out from 10:30am to 1:30pm today. Found bluegills, pumpkin seed and crappies in four fow around Rocky point. Bluegills had eggs. Wife caught a 16" 2 1/4lb Largemouth in same area. Used #10 Tru turn hooks beneath slip bobbers and big reds. Gorgeous day with light breeze making life easy on a calm lake in my 14 footer.  

Any musky reports?

Spent 3 hours on east end this morning. Weeds are very high the further east you go. Many of the weeds are within a foot of the surface east of small island in Town.
HAD 4 hits catching 2 small bass. Temps 61-62 on east end today!

Any musky sightings?

Water temps will fluctuate a lot this time of year. Simply not going to be the same temps day to day. This Saturday, being 80 will bump them up quickly.
Was out a week ago, had temps 50-53. Some nice cabbage already popping. Caught about 50 gills, perch and bass combined. Thickest weeds held the fish. Nothing really up tight. Biggest bass panfishing was 17” Smallie.
