Transportation

Driving

Pack your motor home and visit Western Oklahoma’s magnificent Foss State Park. Travel the desert terrain off the beaten path as the park is located just north of historic Route 66. If traveling from Oklahoma City, you simply take I-40 West for an hour and a half. Since this mid-Western state is mostly flat you won't have to worry about mountainous or steep roads.

Parking

Once you arrive at Foss State Park, there is an entrance fee to the park. Check-in with the visitor center as visitors rave about the park staff and score yourself a free map of the trails with the distance. Not all camping sites are level so you may need to bring some leveling blocks to make your stay a little more enjoyable. The park allows both back-in and pull-through parking. Be on the lookout for bison as a small herd can still be observed from the park office and there is a special feeding of the herd each Saturday.
