Driving
Traveling to Lakepoint State Park from Eufaula, Alabama, is a short drive at only eight miles. The route is comprised of well-kept roads of two lanes. Traffic progresses nicely, and road construction is seen very infrequently. Occasionally, wildlife crosses the roads en route to this park, so remain alert to prevent any accidents.

Lakepoint Resort State Park Campground
Lakepoint Resort State Park Campground is a large property which offers a resort and convention center along with a campground and wilderness style tent camping. Camping is permitted year-round, and reservations are required.
There are 192 campsites at this facility, and they are divided into three sections. The Deer Court section offers campsites with full water, power, and sewage hookups. The sites found at either the Barbour or Clark Loops are equipped with power and water only. Generator use is permitted, and leashed dogs are welcome on the premises.
Lakepoint Resort State Park Campground offers many interesting things on the property for families to enjoy including a restaurant, a lounge, a marina, playgrounds, a swimming complex, tennis courts, and access to hiking trails. The most popular activities include hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, wildlife and bird watching, and picnicking.

In-Season
Swimming
Swimming is a very popular summertime activity at Lakepoint State Park. Whether you choose to take a dip in one of the on-site pools or wander down to enjoy the refreshing waters of Lake Eufaula, you are bound to have a great time. Swimming in the lake is unsupervised, but lifeguard service is provided at the pool at the resort and campground.
Once you've had your fill of swimming, you can recline in a lounge chair by the pool with a good book or meander along the sandy shoreline on the edge of the lake in search of seaside treasures.
Picnicking
Lakepoint State Park is a large property with several picnic areas for families to enjoy. You can enjoy your packed lunch on one of the provided picnic tables or take a stroll down to the coast where you can spread out a picnic blanket in the sand where you can relax with your feast.
Bring along lots of drinking water and a packed lunch to share with your family and friends. No time to cook? Why not get some takeout from the restaurant found within the park grounds?
Your dog may join you on your picnic, but you must clean up after them. They must also remain leashed on the premises.

Hiking
Lakepoint State Park offers many different hiking trails for families to enjoy. To ensure there is something to meet the age and activity levels of every person, the trails vary in length and intensity.
The terrain is quite diverse and leads through areas of forest as well as along the banks of Lake Eufaula. You will encounter some inclines as well, so be prepared with lots of drinking water as well as some snacks to ensure you are well hydrated and have lots of energy.
Wildlife Viewing
If you fancy yourself a lover of wildlife, you will find a trip to Lakepoint State Park is a real treat. The property teems with many different species of plants and animals for your viewing pleasure. Among some of the animals you may encounter are the American alligator and many different varieties of songbirds and raptors.
Be sure to wear good walking shoes and bring along your camera and some drinking water too. Your dog may join you in search for wildlife, but do take care that they don't disturb the animals that make this park their home.
