It’s been many years since I’ve fished DEVILS LAKE and i was one of the first from Wisconsin to fish it in 1982 according to the local bait shop. The locals had no idea what a BEAVER DAM tip up was and the perch, walleye and pike was outstanding. 100 perch a day was the norm on most days. The lake was much smaller back then, only 35000 acres so the fish were very concentrated. I was wondering how the fishing is nowadays as the perch at that time were huge. Here’s one that was weighed in at the local bait/ grocery store in 1982. 2# 14oz.

Fished there last week. Caught a number of large perch close to 2 pounds. Action was good but not non stop. Had a guide fished 2 days.
Fish were fat big bellied and full of the fresh water shrimp that make them grow big.
Heads up if you sign up for a trip there read the contract fine print very carefully. We were charged a bit more for the service and the service wasn't what the web page described.
Will be free fishing on our own if we go at all.
