I always thought that getting old would take a lot longer than it has.

Exactly correct FV, that's the plan!

Interestingly, when someone rents our little fishing boat, we ask that they tie the boat to the pier with the bow facing the lake, tilt the motor up, and park in 1 foot of water.

That way if it rains and they don't bail the boat, the stern of the boat can't physically sink, as it's in too shallow of water.

That typically works out, however it got away from this guy.

Stuff happens sometimes, is what it is...

By the looks of that boat I'd say it's good insurance to install a bilge pump with a float switch . My boat would've sunk in that storm too if zmaniac wouldn't have given me a hand with wiring up a pump and switch!

I’ve often wondered how people clean out their boats.

Well, motor should be towards shore. I would make them pay for it. I caught a lot of big fish out of that boat.

Typed a post, hit submit and nothing. Sight froze up. I give up. No wonder I'll not pay for this BS

That’s too bad Brent. I’m sure the high winds and wave action played a big part in that happening.
We had that happen to us up in Canada one year. While staying on a houseboat, our fishing boats that were beached on shore took a beating from a big storm.

Brent, chances are that motor will be fine.  Pull the plugs and give er some pulls to get any water out of the system.  Put new plugs in and fire her up.  Important to get er lubed up and running before things have a chance to rust.  And of course a fresh set of premium gas for the tank.

If I was a betting man, I'd say you'll have it running like new with no damage or problems in no time!

Good luck!

That’s a bummer. Hope she’s ok for a quick turnaround.
