Yeah, those are weird colors for that swallowtail

That is a black swallowtail butterfly.

  

I don't know what kind of butterfly this is if somebody else can help me out on that?

took this picture on June 6 as this turtle was heading east down our dead end road. he traveled about 1/3 of a mile at that time and probably further. don't know exactly where it went. Today he/she was headed back down our road towards the same place he came from.. Due to recent rains you could follow its tracks both ways.

Carpio,my late uncle,langlade county was a avid fly fisherman. he caught many a trout,bass,panfish even pike and musky on flies Tried to teach me the art but I could never get the casting rhythum down Tried but never worked.

Mayflies hatching this evening.  Time to get out the flyrod   

 

I've been terrorizing my wife with this pic for the last two weeks. 
I force her to look at it.   

Carpie looks like some sort of wasp .When used to go to KY lake would see black wasps and fire red wasps.boy they were some sort of a terror. They would not hesitate to sting you and i recieved some painfull stings yrs ago.

Nasty mutha. 

B&R,show me something that maybe i don't remember from my past but local up your way. Maybe after some thought I'll remember how it was when i was up there in Gleason county as a kid. I told you I have roots in northern wisc PM me if you like and i'll tell you other things especiually brook trout fishing   and other things.All my relatives are gone or dead but memories live on.
