 Chicago Cubs.. Where do we start

Well what do you know Cubs have tied the game 6-6 due to some poor piching by the pirates giving up enough walks to allow the cubs to score 5 runs to tie the game up. It's raining there now so we have a delay for awhile. Well what's the old saying? "IT AINT OVER UNTIL THE FAT LADY SINGS"!! LOL!! GO CUBS!!!

Looks like our cubs might take one on the chin,although they finally knocked out the kid pitching for the pirates.  5th inning cubs down 6-1 but have two runners on(1st&2nd base) 1 out 5th inning. Cubbies still have some time left though to catch up and maybe take the lead. we'll just have to see how it plays out. GO CUBS!!

I'm not gonna mince words.   I hope the Cubs rough him up and make his MLB pitching debut a disaster for him!

MLB hitters facing Skenes for the first time.  By all accounts he has great command of the strike zone.  Hope the kid stays healthy.

Will be interesting to see Skenes for the first time. Sure has been impressive all thru college and in the minors, but of course these are MLB hitters. 
   

What a find!!  Keep er rolling Cubbies and nice to see some hits for a change!  Edit: every Cubs starter had at least 1 hit!

Good to get the first win of the series. It wasn’t Assad’s best starting performance. He only gave up a couple walks, but those always come back and haunt you. Ben Brown was outstanding as IFB noted. Getting good middle relief is something we haven’t had on a regular basis.
Bellinger was 4-5 at the plate and seemed back to his usual self. Morel had a tough night at 3rd, but he did pretty good at the plate. 
Good matchup for today’s game. Skenes has been fantastic at AAA and could be a challenge for the Cubs. Steele will need to have another strong outing today and keep the Buc’s off the bases.
They’re talking possible rain for the game, but I hope they can get it in.

Good news and bad.
Bad-Swanson on the 10 day IL due to the issue with his knee.
Good-Suzuki activated from the IL, but not in tonight’s lineup

After 16 games in 16 days the day off is a welcomed sight. Swanson has been nursing a sore knee since the Astro series and hopefully sitting out yesterday and the day off today will help him recover.
There’s a great chance that Suzuki will be back real soon. He played five innings in right field for the Iowa Cubs yesterday and was 2 for 2 with a walk and a stolen base. He scored twice in the game. 
We could definitely use him back in the lineup.

Well well deserved day off today and with the brewers playing maybe we can pick up a1/2 game if they lose. things can happen. anyway let's see how it goes. Go You Cubs!!
